Cairo - Egypt and Pakistan were the only nations in a poll of 23 nations released Friday in which the majority of people did not have a negative view of the al-Qaeda terrorist network. Around 60 per cent of Egyptians had "positive or mixed" view towards al-Qaeda, the opinion poll carried out for the BBC World Service said.
In Pakistan, where much of the battle against al-Qaeda is being fought, just 19 per cent said they had a negative view of Osama bin Laden's organisation.

(Compass Direct News) – Following the Appeal Court of Alexandria on Sept. 24 granting custody of 13-year-old Christian twins to their Muslim father, their mother lives with the fear that police will take away her children at any moment.
Kamilia Gaballah has fought with her ex-husband Medhat Ramses Labib over alimony support and custody of sons Andrew and Mario in 40 different cases since he left her and converted to Islam so that he could remarry in 1999.
The court ruled in favor of Labib in spite of Egyptian law’s Article 20, which grants custody of children to their mothers until the age of 15, and a fatwa (religious ruling) from Egypt’s most respected Islamic scholar, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, giving her custody.

United Copts of Great Britain

On the 23rd September 2008 The Shobra El-Khema criminal Court, Egypt sentenced Mrs. Bahia Nagy El-Sisi case number 14223 year 1996 to maximum sentence of 3 years imprisonment for “forgery of official document”. The fact is Bahia refused to follow her late father conversion to Islam, which took place for a short period during her childhood before his return to Christianity ,and refused to become Muslim in her ID card.
The second court verdict which made that day a black day for justice and the Freedom of Religion for the Christians in Egypt is the separation of the two minors Andrew and Mario from their mother Mrs. Camilia Gaballah as their father Medhat Ramses Labib converted to Islam.

Egypt’s most well-known convert to Christianity is still hiding a year after he filed the landmark case to become the first Egyptian Muslim to sue the government for rejecting his application to officially change his religion.
Mohammed Ahmed Hegazy, 25, had lost his case in January when an Egyptian judge ruled that a Muslim who converted to Christianity cannot legally change his religious status.
Now, eight months after his case was closed and a year after he filed the case, Hegazy is still hiding for his life.

by Ed Rizkalla The tale of “Sinuhe” provides a rich vein to mine in studying ancient Egyptian literature. William K. Simpson, a contemporary professor of Egyptology, notes (1) the tale of “Sinuhe” is considered as “teachings in the guise of narratives,…Sinuhe as (a) model for the man of the times, (and) expressions of the cultural values.” In this article, the writer, with the grace of Christ the Lord, will continue to review this ancient Egyptian literary work. For the convenience of the reader, a brief reiteration of the tale of “Sinuhe” and relevant excerpts thereof are presented here below:

O people of Islam come to martyrdom in Ramadan…the month of repentance and forgiveness
Groups of Islamic extremists have published a call for jihad against the monasteries of Wadi-El-Natrun on their websites.
Their call comes soon after the rumor spread by the prominent Islamic figure Dr. Zaghloul El Naggar claiming that a Christian convert to Islam has been detained in a Wadi-El-Natrun monastery and subsequently murdered by the Coptic church after refusing to denounce Islam. It is worth noting that the woman in question had declared four years ago that she never converted to Islam and that she was “born a Christian and will die a Christian”
